Míle Buíochas

Ba mhaith linn ár mbuíochas a ghabháil le daltaí agus tuismitheoirí a chabhraigh linn Cúrsa na Cásca a reáchtáil.

We’d like to thank students agus parents that helped us run the Easter Camp.

It was a huge success…

Campaí an tSamhraidh – Summer Camps

Cúrsa A – 1-3 class – 8ú Iúil/July 8th Mon – Fri
Cúrsa B – 4-6 class – 15ú Iúil/July 15th Mon – Fri
Cúrsa C – Secondary School 22ú Iúil/July 22nd Mon – Fri

Dán na Samhna 🎃

NB Conversation and participation will be central to the to the classes helping the student to ‘acquire’ the language, a practice that isn’t common at all in most schools.

  • Followed by the classes there will be lunch where students can attend the shop or remain in the camp/school with their packed lunch.
  • After lunch, approx 1.45pm there will be games such as rounders/dodgeball/olympic handball/tag rugby etc where Irish will be used throughout, consolidating language use each day.
  • 2.30pm will bring us to the halla for modern and traditional amhránaíocht (Singing). This is a thoroughly enjoyable part of the day for teachers and students. The songs help enjoy the language on yet another level or through a different genre.
  • From 3.15 – 4.00 we mix traditional dance with modern dance and again incorporate Irish in this. The students are left laughing and gasping at the end of each day!
The environment is completely easy going without any pressure or expectation. The success of the college is based both on this and experience of the teachers and supervisors.

Gaelcholáiste na Cloiche Léithe is an Irish Summer/School Holiday Camp set in Kilworth, Co. Cork.
The College also does weekend grinds for Junior and Leaving Cert students….

My two absolutely loved the midterm camp with you all. They came home buzzing from what they had learnt & the fun they had doing so. It has given them such a positive spin on our native language and I notice they are far more interested in Irish since. Great course to have on our doorstep. Handouts etc were excellent. Thanks to Joe & team involved.
